Dear Members,
As previously communicated, A Special General Meeting (SGM) will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Metropolitan Centre located at 3840 Finch Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1T 3T4. The meeting will start at 9.30 am and is expected to end at 1.00 pm.
As informed previously, a zoom meeting was held on Sun Oct 27th, 2024, from 10:00 AM to ~12:40 PM to receive feedback on the DRAFT version 2 of proposed amendments to the JHCA Canada Constitution and By-Laws distributed on Oct 13, 2024.
Based on the discussions we have incorporated some of the suggested changes to the amendments and the resultant DRFAT version 3 of proposed amendments to the JHCA Canada Constitution and By-Laws are attached for your review and reference.
SGM is scheduled to discuss, amend, and approve each of the proposed changes to the current constitution and the by-laws.
The process of amendments to the constitution is governed by Article 17 of the current constitution available as https://jaffnahinducanada.com/index.php/constitution/.

The JHCA Canada Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, starting at 9:30 a.m. at Scarborough Civic Center (Council Chamber).
Please be informed that you should be a life member or an active annual member of the association to cast your votes in the Election 2024/2025.
Please refer to the life and annual membership lists displayed on the JHCA Canada website (www.jaffnahinducanada.com) for the status of your membership.

The new membership application forms with proof of payment will be accepted until November 14, 2024, 11:59 PM EST. The payment for renewal of annual membership will also be accepted until November 14, 2024, 11.59 PM EST.
New membership application forms or payments for renewal of annual memberships will not be accepted from November 15, 2024, until the Election 2024/2025 is over on December 14, 2024.
The details regarding the nominations will be provided in a separate email.
